When we were doing fast drills on the court today, everyone's shoes started making high squeaking noises. I was aware that this is due to the friction between the court's surface and our shoes. If friction did not exist, we wouldn't be able to run, stop, and switch directions while we play tennis, we would probably just be sliding all over the court!
