Vibrations in a racket's sweet spot

During practice today, we were discussing the different "sweet spots" in our rackets. I became aware that the sweet spot in a racket (usually the center of the strings) is an area where the vibrations created when the rackets comes into contact with the ball are minimized. The forces in a racket include translation, rotation, and vibration. When the ball hits the sweet spot (the scientific term would be the node), the force of vibration is minimized.  This not only helps the player "feel" the ball better, but it also protects the player's arm by not transmitting as many waves through it. The less waves and vibrations going up the arm, the less injuries you'll have!
